NACC and police arrest woman accused of colluding with former Prachuap Khiri Khan prison chief

The Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission Region 7 (NACC Region 7), in cooperation with Bang Si Muang Police Station, arrested a woman accused of supporting a former chief of Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Prison in illegally producing goods at his official residence and distributing them to shops within the prison.

On April 20, 2026, Pol. Lt. Col. Chatchanop Phadungkan, Deputy Secretary-General of the NACC Region 7, assigned the anti-corruption investigation unit to cooperate with police officers from Bang Si Muang Police Station to arrest Ms. Paweena Sanruthaikul, a suspect wanted under an arrest warrant issued by the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Region 7, warrant number Jor 1/2568, dated February 14, 2025.

Ms. Paweena is accused of committing offenses as an accomplice to then-chief of Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Prison to produce goods at his government residence. The goods were then illegally distributed to the inmate welfare shops within Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Prison, violating the Department of Corrections regulations concerning inmate welfare shops. This resulted in the government not receiving proper income from the inmate welfare shops.

The NACC officers and the police gathered information and traced the accused’s workplace to Nonthaburi Province and arrested her. She was informed of the charges and her legal rights, and the arrest was carried out in accordance with the relevant laws.

The accused was then taken to the Anti-Corruption Investigation Division of Region 7, for further legal proceedings.
