NACC Khon Kaen observes 20-million-baht irrigation project

 

The Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s Khon Kaen Provincial Office (NACC Khon Kaen Office) conducted a field visit to observed a 20-million-baht Royal Irrigation Department project in Khu Kham Subdistrict, Sam Sung District, Khon Kaen Province.

 

Mr. Sattha Kobkulboonsiri, Director of the NACC Khon Kaen Office, assigned officers from the corruption prevention unit to monitor and observe the Royal Irrigation Department's canal dredging project, which uses an excavator (3L-D7) operated by the Nong Wai Irrigation and Maintenance Project in Khu Kham Subdistrict, Sam Sung District, Khon Kaen Province, with a budget of 20,000,000 baht.

 

The field visit is to deter corruption and misconduct, as well as to monitor related incidents arising from the operation of government agencies in using allocated budgets in accordance with regulations and laws.

 

The officers from NACC Khon Kaen Office, together with the chief of engineering of the project, officers from Irrigation Offices 5 and 6, as well as community leaders and local residents, visited the project site.

 

The operation integrated the work of government agencies and the public in jointly monitoring problems and risks of corruption in water source dredging projects, proactively prevent corruption, and encourage public participation in monitoring and inspecting project implementation, so that budget spending is in accordance with the objectives, following the guidelines for monitoring and tracking the situation of corruption in the area.
