NACC Participates in the 6th Plenary Meeting of the GlobE Network in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan

On 20 May 2025, Mr. Sornchai Chuwichian, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), together with officials from the Bureau of International Affairs and Corruption Investigation, attended the 6th Plenary Meeting of the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE Network) in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan.

The GlobE Network is an informal platform that connects anti-corruption law enforcement agencies from States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC). It aims to foster international cooperation in cross-border corruption investigations and asset recovery in an efficient and timely manner.

During the meeting, the Deputy Secretary-General, as Head of the Thai Delegation, expressed appreciation to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), serving as the Network’s Secretariat, and to the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan for organizing the meeting as an important platform for information exchange and collaboration among member agencies in line with the objectives of UNCAC. He also reaffirmed the NACC’s commitment to working collaboratively with international partners across all sectors.

In a side event during the conference, the Deputy Secretary-General gave interviews to both Azerbaijani and international media on the current challenges of corruption, which now involve increasingly complex mechanisms and transnational dimensions, such as the transfer of illicit assets abroad. He emphasized that international cooperation in asset recovery is a crucial issue in the legal context of each country. Meetings like GlobE provide a key platform for experts and practitioners to enhance cross-border collaboration in addressing these pressing issues.
