NACC held official discussions with representatives from the Nordic Police Liaison Office

On March 31, 2025, Mr. Nitiphan Prachuabmoh, Deputy Secretary-General of the NACC, and Mr. Sornchai Chuwichien, Deputy Secretary-General of the NACC, along with Ms. Wanwara Silpawilawan, Director of the Bureau of International Affairs and Corruption Investigation, and relevant officials, welcomed and held official discussions with representatives from the Nordic Police Liaison Office. The delegation was led by Mr. Teemu Mantyniemi, Detective Superintendent of the National Bureau of Investigation of Finland, and Mr. Seppo Mikkola, Senior Detective of the National Bureau of Investigation of Finland, along with Ms. Jane Ohlsson, Counselor for Police Affairs in the Nordic Countries at the Embassy of Sweden, and their team at the special reception room of the NACC office.

On this occasion, both sides discussed and exchanged information on international cooperation in criminal matters related to corruption cases between Thailand and the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden). Mr. Teemu Mantyniemi shared insights into Finland's criminal investigation processes and expressed his willingness to cooperate in addressing transnational corruption cases, including the exchange of useful anti-corruption information in the future.

Additionally, both parties discussed strategies to enhance cooperation between the NACC and law enforcement agencies of the Nordic countries. In particular, they explored the possibility of establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate case-related information exchange and coordination, which would significantly contribute to the prevention and suppression of corruption in a more effective manner.
